This is the oldest and most commonly heard – WordPress is just a blogging platform. As WordPress Developer who makes living by WordPress Development, I find it too way too harsh. Most of the time it comes out from the people who have very limited working knowledge around WordPress.
WordPress is pretty versatile, powerful and extensible platform. Though it might not build anything or everything that a client is looking for, but for most of cases if selected properly WordPress can deliver great projects with great ROI.

Let’s talk about the various clients using WordPress. WordPress can be an enterprise solution too. There are so many corporates and even fortunate 500 companies that have already taken the path of WordPress either to build their website or even micro-sites. So in short, it’s just a myth when someone says WordPress is just a blogging platform. This might come from his/her inexperience with the platform or they have used WordPress ages back.
